Back Creek Retrievers

Scooter (DOB 3-5-1998)

FC-AFC CAFC Chena River Chavez  x  NFTCH-CFC Dippomarsh Kerensa of Carronade

Ever since she arrived at Back Creek in 1999, Scooter (Carronade's Coup De Grace) has been one of my primary hunting retrievers.  Not only does Scooter have incredible hunting desire, she also brings an outstanding pedigree.  Scooter's mother won the Canadian National Open Field Trial Championship in 1998, and one of her littermates (NFTCH-CNFC Carronade's O' Rylee Factor) also won the Canadian National Open Field Trial Championship in 2003.  Quite an accomplishment for both her mother and sister!   Scooter is OFA Good and CERF Clear.  During her time here at Back Creek, Scooter has hunted numerous locations around the country in pursuit of dove, ducks, pheasant, geese, and swan.  Scooter is also an excellent upland dog and dearly loves to chase those mid-west roosters!  Scooter is another in a long line of outstanding hunting retrievers to reside at Back Creek Kennel!

Reese (DOB 5-23-2001)

FC-AFC Rebel With A Cause  x  BJ's Black Hot Pepper

Reese (Back Creek's Rebel Mania) is the other "foundation" female at Back Creek Kennel.  A product of Pepper and Rebel (FC-AFC Rebel with a Cause), Reese has quickly established herself as another outstanding Back Creek retriever.  Reese has not only retrieved many doves, ducks and geese in her career, she has become an excellent upland dog who also carries the pointing gene passed down from the many fine Back Creek females in her lineage.  Reese had her first litter in April of 2004 (Rhett was the stud dog), and not only have many of the dogs produced from this breeding seen action in the field, some of the dogs from this litter have already achieved their HRCH and Master Hunter titles!  A third repeat breeding between Reese and Rhett was accomplished the day after Christmas 2007, and 6 black and yellow puppies arrived on February 21, 2008.  Click here for more info on this litter.

Nelli (DOB 6-2-2006)

(FC Emberain Beau Geste  x  Happydaug Takn Care'O Biznes, SH)

Nelli arrived at Back Creek in the summer of 2006 as my first experiment with a true, field quality golden retriever.  I had owned and trained goldens in the past, but I had always wanted a quality, field bred golden to add to my kennel here at Back Creek.  After a diligent search that took well over two years, I found a breeding that met my criteria.  From that litter, Nelli was picked and she has not disappointed.  In addition to her being a real pleasure to train, she has the retrieving desire and tractability that I was looking for when I began my search.  At six months of age, Nelli accompanied me and my older dogs on my annual hunting trip to Kansas for waterfowl and upland game.  Her performance far exceeded my expectations!  Not only did she display an unexpected fever in retrieving ducks and geese (she had never retrieved a duck or goose prior to this trip), she quickly found that finding ring necks was just as much fun.  With additional training Nelli got in 2007, she made a return to Kansas in December and had an outstanding trip picking up both ducks and roosters over a 10-day period.  To be sure, Nelli is proving to be an exciting addition to the long line of Back Creek retrievers!
