How to find Back Creek Kennel
Back Creek Kennel (BCK) is located in the southern piedmont section of North Carolina in the community of Mount Ulla in western Rowan County. Although the immediate area is very rural, BCK is conveniently located within 60 miles of several major metropolitan areas such as Charlotte and Greensboro. Other nearby cities include Salisbury, Mooresville, Statesville, Concord, as well as many smaller cities.
To get to BCK from Charlotte via I-77. From Charlotte travel north on I-77 to the Town of Mooresville and take Exit 36 (Hwy. 150). Travel east on Hwy. 150 from Mooresville (about 3 miles) until you reach the junction of Hwy. 150 and Hwy. 801. Turn left on Hwy. 801 and travel approximately 6-7 miles (you will cross into Rowan County). Turn right on Back Creek Church Road and travel to the first intersection. Turn left on Brown Road and travel 0.7 mile. BCK is located on the right side of Brown Road (turn at the lone cedar tree).
To get to BCK from Statesville via I-77. Travel south from Statesville on I-77 until you reach the first Troutman Exit (Exit 45). Take Exit 45 and at the stop sign, turn left (east) on Amity Hill Road and travel for about 3 miles until it dead ends at Oswalt-Amity road. Turn left (east) onto Oswalt-Amity Road and travel for about 4.5 miles and then turn right (south) onto Umberger Road. Travel on Umberger Road until it ends at Hwy. 801. Turn right (west) onto Hwy. 801 and travel about 0.25 mile to Back Creek Church Road. Turn left (south) onto Back Creek Church Road and travel about 1.2 miles to the junction with Brown Road. Turn left (east) onto Brown Road and travel 0.7 miles (look for the lone cedar tree). BCK will be on the right side of Brown Road about 250 yards off the road (red brick house)
To get to Back Creek via I-85 (coming from either Charlotte or Greensboro), exit onto Jake Alexander Boulevard in the City of Salisbury. Travel northwest on Jake Alexander for about 2 miles and turn left (west) onto Hwy. 150. Heading west on Hwy. 150, you will travel 10.4 miles and then turn right (north) onto Graham Road (look for the Patterson Farms sign on the left side of Hwy. 150 at this intersection). Once you turn onto Graham Road, you will travel approx. 2 miles to the junction with Brown Road/Lyerly Rd.. Turn left (west) on Brown Road and travel 0.8 mile (look for the lone cedar tree). BCK is located on the left side of Brown Road, approximately 250 yards off the road (red brick house).
