Pepper was a leggy, 70 lb. combination of athleticism and desire. Born at Back Creek in 1993, she was originally sold as a puppy and then purchased back when she was about 2 years old. For the next couple of years she was my second hunting dog until Lacey died. At that point, Pepper became my primary hunting companion. During her brief hunt test career, she qualified in both of the AKC Senior Hunt Tests that I entered. During her hunting career, Pepper traveled to several States hunting all types of game including doves, duck, geese, pheasant, and quail. Pepper was yellow factored, and has thrown the dark, fox red color phase of the yellow labrador. Pepper also produced a number of dogs that exhibited natural pointing characteristics.
Pepper's was bred to Butch (FC-AFC Gunstocks Butch From Winifox) in 2000, which produced an outstanding litter of yellow and black puppies, many of which are now excelling in the field. Pepper's next breeding was to Rebel (FC-AFC Rebel with a Cause), the No. 1 High Point Yellow Labrador in the country for 2000 and the No. 4 Overall Labrador (for additional info on Rebel, visit his web site).
